There are moments in a creator’s journey that quietly redefine everything and for me, this is one of them. Even while writing this blog, I never thought I will ever win this or my book will come so far.
I’m proud to share that I’ve been recognized as an award-winning author for my book, Letters That Never Crossed Nainital, at the International Achievers Award by Gyan Uday Foundation. This isn’t just my first award for my book but it’s a milestone that carries a story far beyond writing for me.
From Words to Impact: More Than Just a Book
I still remember writing "Letters That Never Crossed Nainital (Paperback)" while travelling. The memory is still fresh. A story of love, distance, silence, and missed connections, which is built around the fragile beauty of handwritten letters with an old school spice.
But what I didn’t expect was how this story would travel beyond pages.
Through the book, we were able to generate ₹54,820, which was donated to support the education of underprivileged children, helping pay their school fees.
How many books I sold?
I would say around 300+ eBooks and 180+ Paperbacks because of which we were able to generate this amount and before the book was even out, I had this plan to donate the saving to charity. As I remember each time I used to go to cafes and library, I wanted my book to be there and people to read it. This was my first step towards that and I was happy about it as my dream is fulling someone's dream too.
This is where storytelling transformed into something bigger:
- Not just emotions, but action
- Not just readers, but change
- Not just a book, but a purpose
Becoming an Award-Winning Author: What It Means
Being called an award-winning author, Yash Gadade, feels special, but it also feels grounding.
It reminds me that stories matter. That even the quiet ones, even the ones built on pauses and silences, can reach people.
But more than validation, this feels like responsibility.
A responsibility to:
- Keep telling honest stories
- Keep writing what people feel but don’t always say
- Keep creating something that goes beyond pages
“This feels like my story.” but it isn't.
The Journey of Letters That Never Crossed Nainital
Set in the calm, almost nostalgic world of Nainital, this book isn’t just about love, it’s about timing, distance, and everything that gets lost in between the transit.
It’s about:
- Love that exists without presence
- Letters that never reach
- Emotions that stay, even when people don’t
- The curse of misunderstanding
- Love is bare minimum
In today’s world, where everything is instant; texts, calls, replies mobile made it all easy for us. We rarely sit with emotions anymore. We rarely wait for someone or something.
This story slows that down.
It asks you to feel the wait & To sit in the silence. To understand what it means when something doesn’t arrive. And maybe that’s why so many readers connected with it, not because it’s extraordinary, but because it’s familiar.
Why This Award Matters for You Too
This award may have my name on it, but it doesn’t belong to me alone.
It belongs to you.
To every reader who picked up Letters That Never Crossed Nainital and saw a part of their own story in it. To everyone who still believes that handwritten words carry something deeper. To everyone who supported, shared, or even just paused and felt something while reading.
To everyone who became an influencer for me and posted the photo and reel and helped me promote.
Because of you:
- A story turned into impact
- A book turned into support for education
- A simple idea turned into something meaningful
And honestly, that’s the part I’m most proud of.
What This Means Moving Forward
Winning my first award isn’t an endpoint of my writing instead it’s a moment of reflection. Trust me this is the greatest motivation I can get.
A moment to look back at where it all started… and where it can go and the future path to see.
It’s a reminder that:
- Stories can travel further than we imagine
- People connect through emotions more than anything else
- And sometimes, the quietest stories leave the strongest impact
There’s so much more I want to write. More stories, more emotions, more truths that we all carry but don’t always express. And if this journey has taught me anything, it’s this:
If a story is honest, it will find its way.
Final Note (From Me to You)
If you’ve ever felt something you couldn’t express…
If you’ve ever waited for something that never came…
If you’ve ever believed that words still hold power…
If you ever waited and had fun in small moments ...
If you ever longed for someone or something ...
Then Letters That Never Crossed Nainital is not just a book.
It’s a feeling you already know.
And if you’ve already been a part of this journey; thank you. Truly.
This award may be my first, but it carries all of us in it and all of you have a part in it.
